Summer Camp + Teenage Years
It seems like we have finally settled into the school year and guess what? It will be the holidays before we know it. We all move at breakneck speeds these days. It is not just the day-to-day. I am sure you have found a time or two when you catch sight of your kids, and it takes your breath away. I know I have. Where does the time go?
I bring this up because as children grow into teens, they are looking for (and need) a different kind of experience. Some are happy to return to the camps that they have grown to love as kids. They may have built friendships and need to keep the sense of familiarity even when they are breaking the routine.
On the other hand, some teens are adventure-seekers. Maybe they have a strong desire to see the world, learn a new language, and experience a new culture. Teen programs are a bit different than the traditional summer camp. The benefits are the same: independence, resilience, confidence, and responsibility; but, they allow teenagers to capture these lessons on a broader level.
If you are interested in finding a different type of summer fun for your teenager or – dare I say it, soon-to-be young adult, let me know! I am sure that I can help you find the right teen summer experience that will make even the most persnickety teenager declare you the Best. Mom. Ever.
